Mothers have such an influence on our lives. I was reflecting today, though, that in my adult life, it is my beloved friends who have taken that torch of influence upon me. I think about these last twelve years at Bent Tree and how much God has grown me up -- and how he sent each one of you to teach me and challenge me further. How I cherish you and thank God for you. May your Mother's Day be a day that celebrates you to the core. I am celebrating you -- that is for sure!

I can certainly echo what you have said, Marcelle. How I love my mom more than life...however because of distance and because of her own journey, I haven't been able to lean into her for wisdom and comfort and godly advise...or for just an ear to hear my heart. Some days I grieve that reality...and other days God reveals to me that I have only drawn upon Him all the more as a result. He has been gracious as well, at every turn, to bring women in my life who would fill in those gaps. I'm so thankful for each of you and I love you dearly!
